Week in a Wink | How I Structure My Week as a Working Mother of Three

It’s been just over three months since I started my new job as an aircraft mechanic!  I was a homemaker for eight years beforehand, and I have had to drastically simplify my daily routines (cleaning, etc.) to accommodate my new schedule.  I work 10-hour shifts Monday through Thursday, 5:15 AM – 3:45 PM; I’m off Friday through Sunday.

Here is an overview of my basic routines (which I will elaborate on in future posts!):

Monday – Thursday

Morning Routine | 2:50 AM – 4:45 AM

  • AM get-ready routine
  • Pray & Read Bible (devotional)
  • WordPress (~10 minutes)
  • AM cleaning routine
  • Pack work bag and pockets
  • Get Anne ready for daycare/Babysitter arrives

Evening Routine | 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM

  • Dinner
  • PM cleaning routine
  • Prep kids’ book-bags
  • “Loving Movement” (<10 minutes exercise routine)
  • Update finances
  • PM get-ready routine

Friday – Sunday


  • Weekly Home Blessing
  • Order groceries
  • Errands
  • Family movie/game night


  • Grocery pick-up
  • Zone clean
  • Chore chart/Financial Peace Junior
  • Date “night”


  • Church (optional)
  • Meal prep 3-4 dinners + breakfasts + lunches
  • Pamper routine

I am not always consistent, but this basic weekly structure helps me to stay on top of our priorities and provides a foundation for a productive, happy, healthy lifestyle.
